This programme deals with the full inclusion and active participation of persons with disabilities and parents of children with intellectual disabilities in - Government policies and programmes;
- Political and local governance processes, and
- Civic decision making processes.
It also ensures that development priorities of persons with disabilities are mainstreamed into policies, plans, programmes and activities of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs), so as to help enhance the quality of life, full participation, and empowerment of men, women, youth, the elderly and children with disabilities in all spheres of life. The programme further empowers persons with disabilities and parents of children with intellectual disabilities with knowledge and information to demand benefits from provisions of public goods and services at their District Assemblies as well as community development programmes in line with disability legislative and policy frameworks.
